PREPARATION FOR USE UNPACKING AND SET-UP • Carefully remove the unit from the carton and remove all packing material from the unit. • Remove any labels or stickers which may be on the front or top of the set, but do not remove any labels from the back or bottom. • Press the CD door OPEN button and remove the dummy CD display card from the CD compartment. • We suggest that you retain the original carton and packing materials in case it ever becomes necessary to return your unit for service.
NOTE: This unit has a polarized AC plug with one wide blade and one narrow blade. This plug will only fit into a matching polarized AC outlet. This is a safety feature to reduce the possibility of electric shock. If this plug will not fit in your AC outlet, you probably have an outdated non-polarized outlet. You should have your outdated outlet changed by a qualified, licensed electrician. Do not file the wide blade on the plug, or use an adapter to make the plug fit into your outlet.

PLAYING COMPACT DISCS Note: Although this portable CD player can read CD-R and CD-RW discs, in addition to normal CDs, the playability of CD-R/RW discs may be affected by the type of software that was used to create the discs, as well as the quality and condition of the blank media you are using. 100% playability cannot be guaranteed. This is not an indication of a problem with the player. IMPORTANT! The unit should not be carried around during CD playback.
PAUSE PLAYBACK Press the PLAY/PAUSE button once during playback. Playback stops and the track display flashes. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button again to cancel pause and resume playback at the same point in the track. The track display stops flashing. TO STOP PLAYBACK Press the STOP button and the display shows the total tracks of the disc. NOTE: After pressing the STOP before opening the CD door.
REPEAT PLAYBACK This function allows a single track or all tracks on a disc to be played repeatedly. PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK Programmed playback enables tracks on a disc to be played in any desired order. Up to 20 tracks can be programmed. CARE AND MAINTENANCE COMPACT DISC CARE • To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the edges. • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc. • Do not attach any tape, stickers, etc. to the disc label. • Clean the disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth.
CLEANING THE UNIT • To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your unit from the AC power source when cleaning. • If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax or polish sprays on the cabinet. • If the cabinet becomes dirty or smudged with fingerprints it may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Never use abrasive cloths or polishes as these will mar the finish of your unit.
