| ENGLISH The EM6010 comes with a sensor for the remote control. Connect the sensor to the IR input on the back of the DVR (left side). Make sure the receiving side of the IR sensor gets placed in a location where there is unobstructed view, for instance on your monitor or TV. 3.2 Connecting the EM6010 to your TV or video monitor Now that the EM6010 is connected to the power grid you can also connect it to a television, video monitor or LAN network.
| ENGLISH 3.3 Configuring the EM6010 for use in your LAN network The EM6010 can be connected to a LAN network, allowing it to be accessed by computers on the network using the supplied software. The default network address of the EM6010 is 192.168.1.10. If this address does not lie in the range of your network or is already in use, consult your network administrator to receive a correct network address. | ENGLISH 4.0 First settings Now that the EM6010 has been connected, you will need to change the default passwords so that unauthorized users can not gain access to the EM6010. It is also important that the date and time are correctly configured, allowing you to see at which moment a certain recording was made. 4.
| ENGLISH Hint: If this function is enabled you will need to enter a code before you can configure the EM6010. We recommend you to only enable this option after you are done installing the device. 4.3 Setting the date and time using a TV or video monitor 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Press the red ‘Menu’ button on the remote control. If the EM6010 asks for a code: Enter the Admin code as set in chapter 4.1. Use the ‘Down’ button to navigate to ‘Date’. Press the ‘Enter’ button.
| ENGLISH 4.5 Software installation (optional) Place the CD-ROM as supplied with the EM6010 in the CD-ROM drive of your computer and follow the steps below to install the software. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Choose your language and click ‘Next’. Choose ‘Install Java’ and click ‘Next’. Choose ‘Typical Setup’ and click ‘Accept’. The software will now be installed. Click ‘Finish’. You will now return to the CD-ROM menu. Choose ‘Install Video Server’. The installation will start.
| ENGLISH there are security cameras. The ‘LOOP’ port is meant for analogue cameras equipped with a BNC connection. Make sure you completely fasten the connector until you hear a click. (This type of connector can only be fitted in one manner.) 5.4 Checking the camera image If everything has been correctly connected you should now see an overview of 4 separate camera images on the connected monitor. If this is not the case, press the ‘4CH’ button on the remote control.

Press the red ‘Menu’ button on the remote control to open the menu of the EM6010. Press the ‘Enter’ button to open the ‘Record’ menu. Choose the option ‘Record IMG Size’, nd set it to ‘Frame’ using the ‘Enter’ button. Choose the option ‘Record Quality’, and set it to ‘Best’ using the ‘Enter’ button.
| ENGLISH 7.0 Managing recorded video After the EM6010 has made a recording, you can immediately playback these images, search for a specific time or save the recording to a USB stick, so you can (for instance) hand it to the authorities. 7.1 Immediately playback images 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Press the ‘Play’ button, on the lower right part of the remote control. The EM6010 will now switch to playback modus. Recording will commence in the background without being disturbed.
| ENGLISH 2. Wait for about 30 seconds. The EM6010 will recognize the stick and give you a message on the screen. 3. Press the red ‘Menu’ button on the remote control to open the menu of the EM6010. 4. Choose the option ‘Advance’, and press the ‘Enter’ button. 5. This is normal and you need to allow/confirm this installation. After a few seconds the managing page will appear Using the remote control on the left part of the screen you can manage the EM6010. These functions are identical to using a real monitor or remote control.

(Upper right part of the screen, next to the photo camera and film.) Double click ‘Network’. Click ‘Mail’. Enter the e-mail server in the ‘Server’ field. This can be an e-mail server hosted by yourself or an e-mail server from your Internet provider. Consult the data of your Internet provider if you do not know the name of the server.

| ENGLISH Q: My hard disk keeps filling up. This one is too small. Can I place another disk in the EM6010? A: It is possible to place a larger (IDE) disk. Make sure the disk is set to ‘Master’ or ‘Single’. Q: When I playback recordings, the image seems to jolt. How do I solve this? A: The quality of the recording depends on the IPS. If a recording is made with a low IPS the playback will seem to jolt or stutter. Recordings of 25 IPS are the most smooth.
