The EM6010 will start to save images to the specified FTP server as soon as motion is
detected.
8.2.5 Saving images over the network
1. Login as described in chapter 8.2.1.
2. Click the ‘System Config’ icon.
(Upper right part of the screen, next to the photo camera and film.)
3. Double click ‘DVR’ and then ‘Network Backup’.
4. Choose ‘Search List’ in the left menu. This function allows you to quickly find a
recording. Consult chapter 7.2 for a detailed description of the ‘Search list’.
5. If you found a specific moment in the ‘Search List’ that you wish to save, click
said moment and choose ‘Download’.
6. The screen ‘DVR Network backup’ appears.
7. Enter the maximum size of the file you wish to save in the ‘Backup Size’ field.
8. Click ‘File Path’ to choose the location where you wish to save the file to.
9. Click ‘Start’ to save the file.
10. Depending on the size of the file it may take a few minutes before the specified
recording has been saved.
11. The recording will then be opened in the video player.
Hint: The recordings can be played back on any computer that has the Video Server
software (including player) installed. If you need to make the recording available to a
third party you will need to include a copy of the installation CD-ROM so they can
install the player.
9.0 Frequently asked questions
Q: There is a sort of VGA port (D/V) on the back of the DVR. What is it for?
A: It is not possible to directly connect a VGA to the D/V port. This port is meant for an
optional VGA modulator. (A modulator converts video data to a, for a VGA monitor
recognizable, signal. This modulator is equipped with a port for your VGA monitor.)
Q: I see an audio IN/OUT on the EM6010. What is it for?
A: If you connect a camera with a microphone, you can connect the audio cable of the
microphone to the AUDIO IN. When a recording is made, both video and audio will be.
AUDIO OUT can be used to playback the sound of a recording, by connecting a pair
of loudspeakers.
Q: Can I connect a USB hard disk to the EM6010 ?
A: The maximum supported size of the USB medium is two gigabyte. The EM6010
has been tested with both the EM7023 and the EM7025 housing. These function
correctly up to the supported 2 gigabyte.
