3.3 Configuring the EM6010 for use in your LAN network
The EM6010 can be connected to a LAN network, allowing it to be accessed by
computers on the network using the supplied software.
The default network address of the EM6010 is 192.168.1.10. If this address does not
lie in the range of your network or is already in use, consult your network administrator
to receive a correct network address. After receiving the correct information you can
change the network address as follows:
1. Make sure the EM6010 is connected to a monitor and started up as described in
chapter 3.2.
2. Connect a network cable to the LAN port on the back of the EM6010.
3. You can connect the other end of the network cable to your router or switch.
4. Press the ‘Menu’ button on the remote control.
5. Press the ‘Enter’ button four times to input the default key code 0000.
6. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the option ‘Advance’ and press the ‘Enter’
button on the remote control.
7. Navigate to the option ‘Network’ and press the ‘Enter’ button.
8. The network options will now be shown. Press the ‘Enter’ button again.
9. In the screen that now appears you can change the IP address, subnet mask and
the gateway by using the numeric keys.
10. Press the ‘Menu’ button to save the changes to the network settings.
11. In the current screen you can navigate to the ‘DNS’ field.
12. By using the numeric keys you can change he DNS address.
13. Press the ‘Menu’ button to save the changes.
14. Press the ‘Menu’ button to close the menu.
The new network settings are immediately valid, you do not need to restart the
EM6010.
Hint: Write down the network settings here, so you can easily recover the settings at
any time.

Hint: After the network address has been configured using a television or monitor, you
can control the device using the webpage or by using the supplied software.
