4.5 Software installation (optional)
Place the CD-ROM as supplied with the EM6010 in the CD-ROM drive of your
computer and follow the steps below to install the software.
1. Choose your language and click ‘Next’.
2. Choose ‘Install Java’ and click ‘Next’.
3. Choose ‘Typical Setup’ and click ‘Accept’. The software will now be installed.
4. Click ‘Finish’. You will now return to the CD-ROM menu.
5. Choose ‘Install Video Server’.
6. The installation will start. When asked, click ‘Next’ to install the software, then
click ‘Finish’.
7. The software has now been installed on your computer.
The most important functions of the software that can not be set using the remote
control and TV or video monitor will be attended to in the following chapters of this
manual.
You will need a functional LAN network as described in chapter 3.3 to be able to use
the software.
5.0 Connecting the cameras to the EM6010
After setting the time and the security codes, you can connect the camera to the
EM6010. A maximum of four analogue cameras is supported. These need to be
connected to the INPUT ports 1 to 4 on the back of the EM6010.
5.1 Connecting the EM6020 or EM6025
For optimal use we recommend the Eminent EM6020 and EM6025 cameras. These
cameras can immediately be used in combination with the EM6010 and come
supplied with a clear multi lingual manual.
Consult the manual of the EM6020 or EM6025 for instructions on connecting.
5.2 Connecting another type of camera
You can of course also use a different type of camera. Thanks to the universal BNC
video ports you can connect virtually any type of analogue camera to the EM6010.
Keep in mind that other cameras may not be suited for use with the four way power
splitter!
5.3 Connecting an extra video monitor per camera
You can connect an extra camera to the ‘LOOP’ port. You can mount this camera in
such a way that visitors may see themselves on the video screen, making it clear that
