2.0 Mounting a hard disk
The EM7050 is a combined eSATA/SATA hard disk enclosure. This means both
eSATA and SATA interfaces are supported. During the following steps we will explain
how to install a SATA hard disk into the enclosure.
1. Carefully take the back plate of the casing.
2. Pull the front out of the casing, and then slide the cradle out.
3. Connect the SATA hard disk to the SATA connector in the cradle and place the
hard disk into the cradle.
4. Screw the four hard disk mounting screws onto the holes on left and right side of
the cradle with the hard disk.
5. Slide the cradle back into the casing.
6. Once the cradle has been fit, press the back plate back onto the casing and use
the two supplied screws to fix the back plate tightly on the casing.
3.0 Connecting the EM7050 using the USB
cable
When using Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X, no additional driver are
required. These operating systems have a built in driver which enables the enclosure
to be installed automatically.
1. Connect the power cord to the ‘Power’ connection on the casing.
2. Connect the USB cable to the ‘USB’ connection on the casing.
3. Connect the power cord to the power supply and connect the power supply to a
wall outlet.
4. Connect the USB cable to a free USB port of your computer.
