damaged or the regulator was having slow recharge or unstable
pressure problems the washer should be replaced.
Once Regulator Pin and Piston Washer is removed insert a 3/32
hex wrench in the tank side of the regulator to push the Piston
through the front of the regulator as seen in figure 15. The
Piston Return Spring will fall out of the regulator as well.
Insert 3/32 wrench into Regulator Filter Cap (silver cap on side
of regulator) to unscrew Regulator Filter Cap. The filter will
fall out onto the cap. Inspect o-ring on filter cap and replace if
needed. (see figure 16)
Proceed to clean the inside of the regulator and the removed
parts with a clean cloth and/or cotton swab as shown in figures
17 – 23.
REASSEMBLY OF REGULATOR
Once clean apply a liberal amount of Dow 33 or equivalent
grease to the 2 o-rings on the Piston as shown in figure 24 mak-
ing sure to fill the grooves the o-rings sit in with grease.
Place the Piston Return Spring into the deeper side of the brass
piston and insert assembly into the front of the regulator (see
figure 25).
Place the Regulator Pin into the 3mm nut driver and the Piston
Washer onto the silver piston with the curved side of the washer
facing the head of the pin (see figure 26). Insert assembly into
tank side of regulator and screw Regulator Pin into Piston until
snug. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN REGULATOR PIN (see figure
27). Only tighten until turning Regulator Pin spins the Piston
as well.
Place filter in Regulator Filter Cap and screw the assembly into
filter area using 3/32 hex wrench (see figure 28).
Insert Pin Retainer in orientation shown in figure 30 into tank
side of regulator ensuring oval slot in the Pin Retainer is lined up
with bottom slot on regulator.
Insert 3/32 hex wrench into bottom slot of regulator and place
push Pin Retainer towards front of regulator until the slot on the
regulator lines up with the slot on the Pin Retainer (see figure
31).
Insert Pin Wedge with Wedge Return Spring back into bottom
of regulator with the sloped side facing toward tank side of regulator (see figure 32 for orientation). The wedge
should fall into place easily and if not, ensure the slots on the
regulator and Pin Retainer line up on all sides.
Place Regulator Lever on top of Pin Wedge in off position and
install the shoulder screw using 3/32 hex wrench (see figures
33 and 34).
Apply a small amount of Dow33 grease to the large part of the
On/Off Pin. Use pliers to place On/Off Pin back into the Pin Re-
tainer being careful to only grip the small end of the pin with the
pliers. (see figure 35).
Use the ½ in socket to reinstall the Regulator Nut into the tank
side of the regulator (see figures 36 and 37).
Place Regulator Disc in regulator front cap as shown in figure
38. Place and Main Regulator Spring on top of Regulator Disc
front cap onto front of regulator. Only hand tightening is needed
(see figure 39).
WARNING: Before applying air to marker unscrew regula-
tor adjustment screw to set pressure to zero as pressures
may have changed during service.
