1-2 INSERTING THE SIM-CARD To make calls with the phone, you‘ll require a SIM-card. This is how it is inserted: D If the mobile phone is turned on: Hold down the on the upper edge of the mobile phone for 3 seconds in order to deactivate the phone. The display screen is now blank. D The mobile phone battery may not be recharged simultaneously. Thus, if necessary, remove the recharging cable from the lower side of the phone.
D The SIM-card holder is located to the right below the emergency button. Use your fingernail or a sharp object to pull up the SIM-card holder. D Place the SIM-card in the SIM-card holder: the golden chip side should face downwards, the indented corner of the SIM-card is to be placed to the lower right. D Place the SIM-card holder back into the slot. 1-3 INSERTING THE BATTERY D Remove the battery from the packing.
1-4 LOADING THE BATTERY D Remove the recharging cable from the packaging. D Stick the recharging cable in the socket on the lower end of the mobile phone and stick the power plug into a socket. When first charging up the phone, a complete charging must be conducted (app. 8 hours). D During the charging phase, the mobile phone screen displays the battery symbol and „Charging“. At the same time, the signal light is green when there is contact between the recharging device and the mobile phone.
Tip: To avoid problems caused by forgetting/losing your PIN code, we recommend that you deactivate the PIN code request as follows: D When open, go to menu point Settings with and make the selection using . Find menu sub item PIN Request by pressing on several times and make the selection using . Then turn it Off by selecting . (If the option Off isn‘t already listed in the background, return to the selection menu by pressing . At this point, a 4 digit PIN code is requested once again.
2 GETTING TO KNOW YOUR MOBILE PHONE IN 10 MINUTES 2-1 IMPORTANT TO KNOW FROM THE FIRST STEP D Whenever you lose your way in the menu, simply close the sliding cover of the phone. After that, you see the stan4-by display in the screen! D You can also get yourself out of troublesome situations by partially repeatedly pressing ... D If the mobile phone is not used at all for two minutes, the display screen automatically turns off. The mobile phone is then in its energy-saving mode.
2-3 DIALLING WITH THE KEYPAD D Open the mobile phone and dial the phone number via the keypad – ALWAYS dialling the area code first. Example: enter „02789789“ for the number 789789 with the area code 02/. D Then have the call carried out by pressing D To ensure that your telephone partner can understand you perfectly (acoustically), open the slider during your conversation. End conversations with . If the person you‘re talking to hangs up before you do, you do not need to press .
2-6 PHONE BOOK REMOTE MAINTENANCE PER SMS To make it easier for new numbers to be stored in your phone book, you can pass along this task to your friends and family. D They simply need to send you an SMS (text message) to your mobile number in the following format: #Name#Number# D Example: #Tommy#07785987654# The number your contacts send must however include the area code and thus, the complete mobile number should begin with „0“.
3 GETTING TO KNOW YOUR MOBILE PHONE IN 20 MINUTES 3-1 SMALL MENU – CLOSED COVER When closed, the alphabetically sequenced phone book entries are easy to read (if already saved). When you scroll to the top with the SMALL MENU appears. The following 5 menu points are displayed: Dialled calls Missed calls Received calls Received SMS Battery and reception status q 3-1.1 Dialled Calls If the menu point is in the background, the last number dialled is displayed.
q 3-1.3 Received Calls If this menu point is in the background, the number or name (if stored in the phone book) of the last call accepted is shown in the display. The list of the accepted calls is displayed with the date and time stamp of the accepted call with . Select the desired number with . The dialled number can be called with . q 3-1.4 Received SMS If this menu point is in the background, the number of the newly received SMSes (= text messages) is displayed.
3-2 ALARM CLOCK D D You have two possibilities to reach the clock settings: On the top of the mobile phone you will find the quick acess button . Or open the mobile phone, use to scroll to Settings and confirm with select Alarm clock using make the confirm using . q D 3-2.1 Setting the Alarm Clock Activate the Alarm clock menu (see chapter 3-2). D Via the keypad or , set the hours in double-digits (for example, „07“ for 7 o‘clock in the morning) and save with .
q D 3-2.2 Turning Off the Alarm & Snooze Function When the alarm clock goes off, you hear an alarm melody which you can determine yourself (under Settings/ Sound & alert/ Alarm melody). You now have two possibilities: Press to end the alarm. Should the alarm function not be fully deactivated (see chapter 3-2.4), the alarm clock will go off at the same time on the next day. D In order to be awoken or reminded again 2 minutes later, press the snooze function while the alarm is ringing.
3-3 MANUAL KEYLOCK AND AUTO-KEYLOCK To ensure that no calls can be made in the stan4-by mode while the activated phone is subjected to bumps and movement in pockets, bags, etc., the two following useful functions are available: q 3-3.1 Manual Keylock D To activate it, hold down the button to the upper left of the phone 3 seconds long. 4 GETTING TO KNOW YOUR MOBILE PHONE IN 30 MINUTES 4-1 SMS/TEXT MESSAGES An SMS (Short Message Service) is a written short message which can be sent to all mobile phone users. Costs are only incurred when sending an SMS. Remark: Even some fixed network phones can receive an SMS. q D 4-1.1 Writing an SMS Open the mobile phone and select SMS-Messages with D Select Write New SMS with D Use the keypad to write your SMS. To delete individual characters, shortly press .
Examples for function keys: D press 1x = j D press 2x = k D press 3x = l D press 4x = 5 D press 1x = Blank D press 2x = 0 q D 4-1.2 Writing Text Messages To insert blank spaces (the space between characters), press D Insert punctuation marks (. , ! ?) by pressing D Additional characters: enter the selection area for additional characters by pressing .By repeatedly pressing and/or. , move from left to right.
D In the upper right hand corner of the display, you can see how much space is still left in the SMS. Example: 1/135 means that there are still 135 characters space remaining in this first SMS. If more than 160 characters have already been written, the text is sent in two SMSes and in the upper right hand corner, you see 2/... q D 4-1.3 Sending an SMS You have the possibility to send your text in three connected SMSes with up to 450 characters. To send the completed text, go to option Send with .
q D 4-1.4 Receiving an SMS A short tone signal informs you that an SMS has been received. The display screen then shows: „New SMS“. D To read the SMS, select . Now you can read the short message. For long texts, continue to scroll downwards in the text field. q D 4-1.5 Answering a Received SMS While the received SMS is still being displayed, press 3x. Confirm the selection Reply with .
q 4-1.7 Creating and Inserting Templates Templates are often used messages such as „Call me“ or “Coming later” or „I’m in a meeting”. SMSes already created or those selected from the already accepted template list help you to save time when writing SMSes. Existing templates can also be changed before shipment (see below). Creating new templates: D In the open mode, select SMS-Messages with . D Select Templates with and confirm with . D Select New Template with . D Write your own text with the keypad.
4-2 PHONE BOOK The phone book makes saving, changing and searching for up to 200 names and numbers possible. (Detailed information on the usage of emergency numbers is provided in chapter 4-3.) q D 4-2.1 Saving Phone Numbers in the Phone Book When open, go to menu point Phone book with using . D Go to Add contact with D Enter the name using the keypad and save with D Use the keypad to enter the phone number WITH the area and dialling code.
D Correct the phone numbers with the keypad or press to move within the number to be corrected. to delete. Use D Save the corrected phone book entry with q 4-2.3 Searching for Phone Book Entries If you need a telephone number from the phone book with the intention of calling the number, you can search for the number in the phone book, whether closed or open: .
q D 4-2.4 Managing the Top 10 In order to be able to dial the most common or most important numbers quickly in the closed status, use the „Top 10“ setting. This lists your top 10 numbers at the beginning of the phone book so that these can be quickly reached in the closed status. Slide open the cover, go to menu point Phone book with and make the selection using .
the other emergency numbers by your phone is then automatically interrupted. If the phones of those whose numbers you selected as part of your emergency call list have an SMS function (always the case for mobile numbers), these contacts receive an emergency SMS before the call. This emergency SMS announcement informs your contact that they are going to be called and that they need to press „0“ during the conversation. q D 4-3.
q D 4-3.2 What is to be Done in the Case of Emergency? Either hold down the emergency button on the back side of the mobile phone for 3 seconds or 3x within 3 seconds. (The emergency button even functions when the keylock is activated.) D If you want to stop the emergency call or recall it, you need to press down 3 seconds long. q D 4-3.
q D Please make note: To stop the emergency call or recall it, hold down D The pressing of with the emergency call recipient guarantees that your emergency call does not end up going unheard on an answering machine. D For the case that you suppress your calling number, this function is automatically deactivated for the emergency call.
5 GENERAL NOTES SAFETY ADVICE: D Mobile phones are to be turned off in hospitals and in the proximity of medical devices. D There should be a minimum distance of 20 cm between a cardiac pacemaker and an activated phone. The mobile phone must never be carried in the chest pocket. When using the mobile phone, hold the phone to the ear the furthest away from the cardiac pacemaker. If you feel like the cardiac pacemaker has been interfered with or disturbed, immediately end your use of the mobile phone.
MAINTENANCE TIPS: D Use a damp cloth to clean the device. Avoid the use of sprays and too many fluids because these can enter the device through openings on the keypad and could cause damages. Do NOT use any purifiers that contain scouring agents, alcohol, spiritus or solvents (turpentine). These agents can attack the synthetic encasement and damage the imprint. D The SIM card should be handled carefully, like a credit card: do not bend it, scratch it or subject it to static electricity.
DISPOSAL: D Disposal of batteries: Batteries should be placed in your normal household garbage! As a consumer, you are legally required to turn in used rechargeable and normal batteries. You can turn these in at the local collection station in your community or at a specialized dealer. D Disposal of your device: When this product has served its time, please do not throw it away in your household garbage.

7 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS D Call fails to go through: Check the selected Phone numbers to ensure they are correct. It may be the case that the call number of the person you are trying to reach has been changed. D The mobile phone display is empty: Is the mobile phone actually on? ( The rechargeable battery is possibly completely empty and must be loaded (see chapter 1-4).
D D Can an emergency call be made without reception or credit? Without reception you cannot make a call. With „Limited Service“ you either have no credit on your phone or no reception with your operator, but with another operator. You only can call 112, not individual emergency numbers stored in your phone. How can you improve the reception? Search for another location: when indoors, head towards a window or continue with the conversation after you have exited an elevator, underground garage or a tunnel.
