8.1 Pressure Relief Valve Adjustment
1. A gauge of the correct pressure range must be
fitted to the pump outlet.
2. Slacken the release valve gland to allow the relief
valve cover plate to be rotated giving access to
the relief adjusting screw.
3. Turn the adjuster anti-clockwise to reduce the
pressure setting and clockwise to increase the
setting (long nosed pliers can be used to turn the
adjuster). The adjustment is very sensitive, so only
turn a few degrees then re-check setting.
NOTE: To enable easier turning of the adjuster,
always release the pressure before adjusting the
relief valve setting.
4. When correct pressure setting is achieved, re-
position and secure the cover plate and release
valve gland.
WARNING: Do not increase the pressure
setting above the setting stamped on the
pump end cover. Higher pressure will
increase mechanical forces on internal
components and results in higher handle effort.
