6.2.4 Configuring PPPoE
Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) is used mainly by ISPs that provide DSL modems to connect to the Internet.
z Login Enter the username assigned by an ISP.
z Password Enter the password assigned by an ISP.
z Service Name Enter the service name of an ISP
(optional).
z MTU Enter the maximum transmission unit (MTU). The
MTU specifies the largest packet size permitted for an
internet transmission (PPPoE default: 1492). The MTU
size can be set between 512 and 1492.
z Authentication Type Select the type of authentication
provided by the ISP: Auto, PAP, or CHAP. If unsure of the
best setting, select Auto.
