YEARLYMAINTENANCE
ExhaustBlowerCleaning
Althoughtheexhaustblowerandblowerhousingweredesignedtominimizeashbuild‐up,somefly‐
ashwillstillaccumulatetherethroughouttheburningseason.Theamountandtypeofashwilldepend
onthetypeofpelletsandventingsystem,butgenerallythisaccumulationwillbemild.If,when
cleaningtheexhaustblower,alargeaccumulationoffly‐ashisfound,cleaningtheexhaustblowerand
housingshouldbeperformedmonthlyorbimonthlytopreventthisexcessbuildup.
Instructions
Beforebeginningtheexhaustblowercleaningprocedure,becertaintheunitisunpluggedand
thoroughlycooleddown.
Removethepaneltotheleft(iffacingthestove).Seepage43forpanelremovalinstructions.
Oncethepanelisoff,theexhaustblowerwillbeclearlyvisible.
Disconnecttheventingsystemfromtheexhaustblowerjustenoughthatyouwillbeableto
removetheexhaustblowerfromthestove(therearpanelwillalsoneedtoberemoved).
Unplugthetwowireswhichconnectthestovewiringharnesstotheexhaustblower,usingthe
quickconnectplugs.

blowertube;a12”socketextensionwilllikelybenecessarytoreachallofthescrews.
Lifttheexhaustblowerupandoutofthestove.Thegasketwhichsealstheexhaustblowerto
theexhaustblowertubeisfragile,sotakeextracarewhenremovingtheblower.Evenwhen
beingcareful,though,itiseasytotearthisfragilegasket,andsinceanairtightsealiscrucial
here,itisbesttoreplacethisgasket(Part#‐PU‐CBG)everytimethe exhaustbloweris
removed.
Withtheexhaustblowerremoved,useautilityvacuumtoremoveanyashaccumulationinthe
exhaustblowertube.
Useasoftpaintbrushandcarefullyremoveanyashaccumulationfromtheinsideofthe
exhaustblower,andfromtheexhaustblowerfanblade.
Inspecttheexhaustblowermotorfordustaccumulationandcarefullyremoveit,ensuringthat
allaircoolingholesintothemotorareopenandfreeofdustdeposits.
Installtheblowerinthereverseorderasdescribedabove.Remembertochecktheconditionof
theexhaustblowergasket.
Reinstalltheventingsystemandpanels.
ConvectionBlowerCleaning
Asalways,becertainthestoveiscoolandunpluggedbeforeservicinganycomponentswithintheunit.
Sincetheconvectionblowerdoesnothandleanyby‐productsofcombustion,itdoesnotrequireserious
cleaningliketheexhaustblower.However,dustfro mthehomeandotherdebrisintheair
canaccumulateon
thebladesoftheconvectionblower.Theconvectionblowerislocatedonthesideofthestoveoppositethe
combustionblower,andanaccesspanelonthestoveisprovided,foreasyconvectionblowercleaning.Any
dustthathasbuiltuponthefanbladescanusuallybe
easilyremovedwithavacuumorasoftpaintbrush.
