Installing a custom kit for Load/PV Shedding

As mentioned earlier, The IQ Load Controller(EP-NA-LK02-040) can only be used for controlling

dedicated loads of up to 36A connected on a 45A breaker or for controlling 32A branch circuits or PV

circuits connected on a 40A breaker. The below section of the document provides details on setting up an

installer self-assembled kit for controlling larger loads.

Note: The appendix contains reference BOM’s for 20A, 30A and 40A circuits that can be used as an

alternative to the IQ Load Controller.

Using an external contactor with a 24 Vac coil

24Vac low voltage is created with a control transformer protected with an OCPD such as an inline fuse.

The 24Vac power supply should be connected to a definite purpose contactor via the auxiliary contact.
