Degree of protection
The IP Code consists of the letters IP followed by two digits and an
optional letter. The rst numeral of the code classies the degrees
of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects and
IK code is an international numerical classication for the degree
of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment

dust. The second numeral species the protection against water.
The optional letter may be appended to classify only the level of
protection against human access to hazardous components.

plastic enclosures ranges between IK06 and IK10.
