Viewing the PoE Port Status
Ifthe4H4285‐49isinstalledinanN5chassisorisreceiving48Vdcfromanexternal
N‐POEPowerSystemtosupportconnectionstoPDs(PoweredDevices),youcanviewthe
powerstatusindicationsontheRXandTXLEDs.However,onlyonegroupof12ports
maybe
viewedatatime.ToviewthePoEportstatus,refertoFigure 4‐1andproceed as
follows:
1. PresstheGROUPSELECTbuttonformorethentwosecond.The4H4285‐49willenter
thePoEportstatusmodeandthePoELEDturnsgreen.
2. Now,everytimeyoupresstheGROUP
SELECTbuttonforlessthanasecond,the
GROUPLEDlightsupinsequence,indicatingwhichGroupisselected.ThePoE
POWERSTATUSforthatgroupofsegmentsisthenindicatedbytheRXandTXLEDs
foreachsegment.Ifthereispowerattheport,theRXLEDis
greenandtheTXLEDis
off.Otherwise,refertoTable 4‐1fortroubleshootinginformation.
3. PresstheGROUPSELECTbuttonagainformorethantwosecond.Thisreturnsthe
4H4285‐49tothedefaultstatusmodetomonitorRX(receive)andTX(transmit)
activityandthePoELEDturnsoff.

Note: The terms flashing, blinking, solid, and Alternately used in Ta b l e 4 - 1 indicate
the following:
Flashing indicates an LED is flashing randomly.
Blinking indicates an LED is flashing at a steady rate (approximately 50% on, 50% off).
Solid indicates a steady LED light. No pulsing.
Alternately indicates an LED is flashing at a steady rate other than 50% on, 50% off.
