Resetting the Device
Usetheproceduresinthissectiontoresetoneormoredevicemodules,toscheduleasystemreset
inordertoloadanewbootimage,ortocleartheuserdefinedswitchandrouterconfiguration.
Resetting a Module or the System Immediately
Usethefollowingcommandtoresetamoduleortheentiredevicewithoutlosinganyuser
definedconfigurationsettings:
reset [mod-num | system ]
Ifmodnumisnotspecified,theentiresystemwillbereset.
Scheduling a System Reset
Whenloadinganewbootimage,itisusefultoscheduleasystemresetasfollows.
1. Toschedulearesetataspecificfuturetime,usinga24hourformat:
reset at hh:mm [mm/dd] [reason]
Ifmonthanddayarenotspecified,theresetwillbescheduledforthefirstoccurrenceofthe
specifiedtime.
Areasontextstringcontainingspacesmustbeenclosedinquotations.Ifoneisnotspecifiedfor
thereset,nonewillbeapplied.
2. Toschedulearesetafteraspecifiedtimelapse:
reset in hh:mm [reason]
Displaying Scheduled Reset Information
Usethefollowingcommandtodisplayinformationaboutscheduleddeviceresets:
show reset

Note: A Matrix DFE Series or N-SA module can also be reset with the RESET switch located on
its front panel. For information on how to do this, refer to the Matrix DFE Series or N-SA
Installation Guide shipped with your module.
