VerificationMode
VerificationmodeisaspecialmodethatanSSKnodeorroutercanadoptspecificallytotesttheLQItoanother
device. In this special mode,thedeviceignoresthenormalhierarchical rules used to form a robust network,
andreliessolelyonsignalstrength.Whenadevice
isrequestedtogointoverificationmode,itwillbrieflydrop
offtheradionetworkand,havingrebooted,reappearrunninginverificationmode.Notethatadeviceplacedin
to verification mode will automatically reboot back into normal mode after 5 minutes if left unattended.
Power‐cyclingadevicein
verificationmodewillalsoreturnthatdevicetonormalmode.
Toplaceadeviceinverificationmode,selectthedevicefromthelistbyusingtheUp/Downarrowkeys,then
presstherightarrowkey.UsingtheUp/Downarrowkeystoselect“verify”,thenpresstheOKkey.Thedevice
willgooff‐lineforafewseconds,beforere‐joiningthenetworkinverificationmode.

• In the final installation, routers can also be sensors. However, they require a permanent
24Vac/dcsupply.
• Eachrouter cansupporta maximum of 16“children”,which can consistof a
maximumof8
battery powered nodes and 8 routers, or up to 16 routers if there are no battery powered
enddevices(EDs).Inmostcircumstances,itisadvisedthat,unlessunavoidable,nomorethan
8“children”shouldbeconnectedtoasinglerouter,toallowforredundancyincaseof
router
failureordamage.
• SSKnodesarefittedwithathermistortemperatureelement,andwillreporttemperatureand
batterystatusto the HHM orCMS (configuration and monitoringsoftware).SSK routersare
notfitted withtemperaturesensingelements,and will onlyreportlinkqualities and battery
status.
