PLASTER FRAME
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
MODEL EVMP6HBMJ2W-I
For use with Downlight Model DRF6WHWH9105C
Please read the instructions carefully and save these instructions, as you may
need them at a later date.
CAUTION
Turn power off at circuit breaker before beginning fixture installation to avoid
electrical shock.
GENERAL
All electrical connections must be in accordance with local and National
Electrical Code (N.E.C.) standards. If you are unfamiliar with proper electrical
wiring connections obtain the services of a qualified electrician.
Remove the fixture and the mounting package from the box and make sure
that no parts are missing by referencing the illustrations on the installation
instructions.
JOIST INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Adjust the hanger bar length by separating the bars. [Fig. 1]
2. Position the frame between joists. Make sure that the hanger bars are in
the correct position. The bottom edge of the hanger bars should be level
with the bottom of the joists. [Fig. 2]
3. Nail the hanger bars to the joists. [Fig. 3]
4. Mark the opening for the hole of the frame on the ceiling. Use a keyhole
saw to cut the hole out. [Fig. 4]
5. Pull the quick connector down from hole. [Fig. 5]
6. Remove a knockout to bring the supply wires into the wire box. Connect
the black supply wire to the black frame wire using a wire connector.
Connect the white supply wire to the white frame wire using a wire
connector. Connect the ground supply wire to the ground frame wire using
a wire connector. [Fig. 6]
HANGING BAR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use pliers to bend the ends of the hanger bars. [Fig. 7]
2. Remove the ceiling grid panel.
3. Rotate the frame sideways to insert easily into the ceiling. Place the frame
in line with the ceiling grid.
4. Ensure the frame sits evenly inside the T-bar ceiling grid. Secure the
frame to the suspended ceiling grid by using pliers to secure the tabs on
the ends of the hanger bars. [Fig. 8]
5. Remove a knockout to bring the supply wires into the wire box. Connect
the black supply wire to the black frame wire using a wire connector.
Connect the white supply wire to the white frame wire using a wire
connector. Connect the ground supply wire to the ground frame wire using
a wire connector. [Fig. 6]
