Introduction
Thanks for choosing the HM1601 wireless siren and strobe for the SOLO wireless
security system. This device extends the audio and visual alarm notifications of the
SOLO base station to anywhere in your home. You can add up to four (4) HM1601s to
a single SOLO base station.
The HM1601 provides separate visual and audio notifications for burglary, fire,
waterflow, and personal medical alarms.
The HM1601 is fully supervised and includes low-battery notifications, wirelessly.

Installation
1. Remove the bracket from the siren by pressing the locking tab, and then gently
slide up the receiver housing. Observe the correct polarity before insert the
batteries.
2. After insert the batteries, the LED will flash 5 times.
3. Enroll the HM1601 with the SOLO base station either using the auto-enrolment
feature, or by noting the 6-digit wireless ID on the back of the HM1601 for manual
enrolment. For more information about enrolling wireless devices on your SOLO
system, please refer to your SOLO documentation. If enrolling manually, make
sure you select “Remote Siren” as the wireless zone definition.

4. For automatic enrollment, place the SOLO base station in auto-learn mode. When
in auto-learn, depress the tamper/program switch until you hear three
acknowledgment beeps from the base station. A long tone indicates the HM1601 is
already enrolled.
5. Once enrolled, temporarily place the siren in the proposed location and perform a
base station Walk Test. If successful, then proceed to step 6. If the location does
no provide adequate signal strength, re-locate and do the Walk Test again.
6. Using the screws or adhesive tape to fix the bracket in the required location.
7. Once the bracket is secured, slide the siren back into the bracket.
Operation
1. The HM1601 will respond to wireless alarm commands from the SOLO base
station. Depending on the type of alarm, the HM1601 will issue audible alarms
with different cadences. The strobe light will also flash to indicate an alarm
condition The duration alarm time depends on the Bell-Timeout (BTO) settings
within the SOLO. In the event of loss of communications with the SOLO base
station, the HM1601 will automatically silence the alarm after 10 minutes.
2. The HM1601 is fully supervised with the SOLO base station. If communications
are lost with the HM1601, the SOLO base station will flag a supervisory fault.
3. HM1601 equipped with tamper switch. If the siren is removed from bracket, it
will report to the base station.
4. If the HM1601 is in the low-battery state, the strobe light will flash every
10 seconds and notify the SOLO base station. Please change the
batteries immediately.
