VGADVI Recorder User Guide 5-1 Create Recordings
To use this feature your USBdrive must be able maintain a write speed of at least 40 Mbit/sec
(5MB/sec) throughout the recording.
For information on testing your USBdrive, visit the Epiphan support page.
To configure storage directly to USB drive:
1. Connect to the admin interface using your preferred connection mechanism. See Connect to the Admin
Interface.
2. Login as admin.
3. Select External USB Drive in the Configuration section; the External USB Drive configuration page is
displayed.
4. Select used as primary storage of recorded files from the drop down list.
5. Click Apply; the changes are saved.
If a conflict is reported regarding the Automatic file upload, go to the Automatic File Upload
configuration page and disable automatic file upload or switch it to a non-USB based
upload type. Repeat the steps above.
Ensure you have a USBdrive inserted. Your next recording(s) write to theUSBdrive.
To stop recording the USBdrive:
1. Connect to the admin interface using your preferred connection mechanism. See Connect to the Admin
Interface.
2. Login as admin.
3. Select the External USB Drive link in the Configuration section; the External USB Drive configuration
page is displayed.
4. Select ignored from the drop down list.
5. Click Apply.
6. To create a recording, see Create Recordings.
