Set up Kaltura CMS integration
When you register Pearl-2 as a resource for the Kaltura Content Management System (CMS), you can use
Pearl-2 to automatically record scheduled VOD events, record manual (ad hoc) events, and schedule webcasts.
When your event ends, your files are automatically uploaded to Kaltura and appear in your Kaltura media list.
Topics include:
l Enable CMS and register with Kaltura
l Disable or deregister the device from Kaltura
l Change the resource name used for Kaltura
l Reassign a registered resource
Enable CMS and register with Kaltura
Use the Admin panel to enable using Pearl-2 as a resource for the following Kaltura events:
l Scheduled VOD events
l Ad hoc (manual) events
l Scheduled webcasting (live streaming) events
Once enabled, you can register Pearl-2 as a resource and assign it a unique name.
It may take some time for Kaltura to display a newly registered resource, depending on how busy
the Kaltura system is when you register.
The resource name you assign to Pearl-2 should be unique. A default resource name that includes the serial
number of your Pearl-2 helps to ensure that. However, it's possible to transfer scheduled events from one
resource to another by assigning Pearl-2 the same resource name as another resource.
If a resource with the same name is already registered in Kaltura, a warning message appears prompting you
to take over the events for that other resource, see Reassign a registered resource. Registration fails if two
other devices are already registered with that same name.
Before you begin, you need:
l A Kaltura instance created
l Access to the Kaltura Management Console (KMC)
l Your Kaltura partner ID
