8 Getting started Getting started Pairing the headset with Bluetooth® devices ! CAUTION Danger of malfunction! The transmitted radio waves of mobile devices can impair the operation of sensitive and unprotected devices. X Only use Bluetooth where it is permitted. The headset complies with the Bluetooth 5.0 standard.
9 Getting started Pairing the headset via Bluetooth with a mobile device 1 2 3x X Twist the ear cups to turn on the headset. X Switch to position "I" to activate Bluetooth. 3 4 4s X Press and hold the Teams/Pairing button until the LEDs lights up white one after the other. The headset is in pairing mode. 10 Getting started Using the audio cable Use the audio cable for media playback when the battery is low or when Bluetooth transmission is restricted or not allowed. Bluetooth immediately turns off once the audio cable is connected to the headset. X Insert the small jack plug into the audio socket of the headset. Bluetooth is deactivated. X Connect the 3.5 mm jack plug to the audio output of your mobile device. To disconnect the audio cable: X Pull the plug out of the headset and your mobile device.
11 Getting started Installing the Smart Control app The free Smart Control app allows you to configure and update your headset and offers additional settings. X Open the App Store or Google Play app on your mobile device. X Search for "Sennheiser Smart Control". 12 Using the headset Using the headset ! CAUTION Hearing damage due to high volumes! Listening at high volume levels for long periods can lead to permanent hearing defects. X Set the volume to a low level before putting on the headset. X Do not continuously expose yourself to high volumes. Turning the headset on and connecting it 3x 3x X Twist the ear cups to turn on the headset. One LED flashes 3 times white. The headset automatically tries to connect to available paired Bluetooth devices.
13 Using the headset Adjusting and wearing the headset For good sound quality and best possible wearing comfort, adjust the headset. L R X Put the headset on so that the headband runs over the top of your head and the side with the R marking rests on your right ear. X Adjust the headset so that • your ears are comfortably covered by the ear pads, • you feel even, gentle pressure around your ears, • a snug fit of the headband on the head is ensured.
14 Using the headset Muting the microphone X Swipe • backward to mute or • forward to unmute the microphone. You hear a tone. Using Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) This headset provides attenuation of ambient noise using Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology. Special microphones optimize speech and reduce background noise. When "Adaptive ANC" is selected, active noise cancellation depends on the intensity of ambient noise.

18 Making calls using the headset Using the voice assistant / Alexa / voice dial The last connected Bluetooth device will be used for voice assistant or voice dial. For Microsoft Cortana: see page 20. Before you can use Amazon Alexa as a voice assistant, you have to add the headset to the Amazon Alexa app – see below. 2s Activates voice assistant / Alexa / voice dial Cancels voice assistant / Alexa / voice dial Connecting the headset to Amazon Alexa X Start the Smart Control app on your mobile device.
19 Making calls using the headset Managing multiple calls You can use the Headset with up to two connected Bluetooth devices. x Softphone Two calls can be managed simultaneously. If you receive a call during an active call, a knock on tone will be played.
20 Using headset and dongle with Microsoft® Teams / Cortana Using headset and dongle with Microsoft® Teams / Cortana To use Microsoft Teams and Cortana with the headset: X Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer – see page 8. If Microsoft Teams is already running, the blue LED changes to purple automatically. Invoking Microsoft® Teams and check notifications X Start Microsoft Teams on your computer. The dongle connects to Microsoft Teams and the LED blue LED changes to purple.
21 Listening to audio using the headset Listening to audio using the headset You can listen to audio via a connected device. The following functions depend on the connected device. X Play the media on your connected Bluetooth device. The LED on the dongle lights up blue.
22 Additional functions Additional functions Charging the headset battery X Connect the supplied USB cable to the USB socket of the headset and a USB socket of your computer. The battery is being charged. The LEDs light up depending on the battery status of the headset and turn off when the battery is fully charged.
23 Additional functions Verifying remaining battery power The remaining battery power is shown in the Smart Control app. Some mobile devices indicate the battery status of the headset. 80% You can retrieve information on the remaining battery power at any time – except while you are in a call: X Tap and hold the finger on the touch pad until a voice prompt is announced.
24 Additional functions Changing the sound effect You can use these settings to enhance the quality of your audio according to its genre or category. The sound effects are automatically activated when the headset and the mobile device are connected via Bluetooth or the USB cable. Smart Control Club To change the sound effect: X Start the Smart Control app. X Open Acoustic modes. X Swipe to your mode – see table below. X Go back to the home screen to save the setting in the app and for the headset.
