Viscosity
Viscosity describes the viscidity of liquids and suspensions. The dynamic or absolute
viscosity is indicated in Pa·s or in mPa·s. In older literature, the unit P or cP is used
(1 mPa·s corresponds to 1 cP).
At room temperature, a 50 % glycerin solution has a viscosity of approx. 6 mPa·s. As the
glycerin concentration increases, viscosity increases considerably. Absolutely anhydrous
glycerin has a viscosity of approx. 1480 mPa · s at room temperature.
