Miniature impact printer mechanisms use solenoid driven needles and an ink ribbon to mark a
series of dots onto plain paper rolls. Interfaces are available to control this process, by
generating text and graphics, and allow connection to a microprocessor or PC port. Evaluation
kits include a printer, interface board, 2 ink ribbons, 4 paper rolls and full connection data.
Ì Impact devices use globally available plain paper rolls and ink ribbon cartridges
Ì Multiple copy printing is possible with special paper
Ì The printout from impact devices is more resilient to mechanical marking and UV light than
thermal print
