Other Problems
Print head cleaning does not start
Make sure that no lights are indicating errors. If any error occurs, recover from the error
status.

Make sure that sufficient ink remains for printing. If the ink cartridge is expended, replace the
cartridge.

The color ink is consumed even when printing in black ink only
Not only the black ink but also the color ink are consumed during the following operations: print
head cleaning, print head self-check, and self-cleaning.
Printing plain paper quietly
When plain papers is selected as the Paper Type setting and Normal or Fine is selected as the
Print Quality setting in the printer driver, the printer prints at high speed. Try choosing Quiet
Mode for quieter operation which will reduce the print speed.
For Windows, select the Quiet Mode check box in the Main or Advanced window of your printer
driver.
For Mac OS X, select Print Settings in the Print dialog box of your printer driver. Then select the
Quiet Mode check box in Advanced mode.
Feel a slight electric shock when you touch the printer (short-circuit)
If you use the outlet on the same circuit as other peripheral devices, you may feel a slight electric
shock when you touch the printer. In this case, it is recommended to ground from the computer
that the printer connects to.
