Receiving Faxes Manually
If you do not fax oen, we recommended using a manual receiving mode that allows you to receive a fax aer
answering a call on the connected phone to check if it is a fax. When the receiving mode is set to manual, the
icon light remains o on the home screen. If you think you will receive faxes while you are away, set the
receiving mode to automatic.
1. When the telephone rings, pick up the handset.

When you hear a fax tone, press Receive on the printer's LCD screen.
Note:
When the Remote Receive feature is enabled, you can only start receiving the fax by operating the telephone.

Press the
x
button, and then hang up the handset.
4. Press the
x
button again to start printing.
Note:
If you have set Fax Output to save received documents, a message is displayed when saving is nished. Follow the on-
screen instructions to view the received document.

Receiving Faxes Using a Connected Telephone (Remote Receive)
To receive a fax manually, you need to operate the printer aer you pick up the handset of the telephone. By using
the Remote Receive feature, you can start receiving a fax just by operating the phone.
e Remote Receive feature is available for telephones that support tone dialing.

Setting Up Remote Receive
1.
Enter Setup from the home screen.
2. Select Fax Settings > Receive Settings > Remote Receive.
3. Aer enabling Remote Receive, enter a two digit code (0 to 9, *, and # can be entered) in the Start Code eld.
