Using Remote Receive
1. When the telephone rings, pick up the handset.
2. When you hear a fax tone, enter the start code using the telephone.
3. Aer conrming that the printer has started receiving the fax, hang up the handset.
Receiving Faxes by Polling
By dialing the fax number, you can receive a fax stored on another fax machine for fax polling. You can receive a
specic document from a fax information service by following the audio guidance provided by the service. When
you use a fax information service that supports audio guidance, dial the fax number using the connected
telephone.
1. Enter Fax from the home screen.
2. Press Advanced Options, select Polling, and then On.
3. Enter the fax number, and then press the
x button.
Note:
If you have set Fax Output to save received documents, a message is displayed when saving is
nished.
Follow the on-
screen instructions to view the received document.

Saving Received Faxes
You can set to save received faxes in the printer's inbox, on a memory device, or on a computer. If none of these are
set, received documents are printed automatically.
1. Enter Setup from the home screen.
2. Select Fax Settings > Receive Settings > Fax Output.
3. Press Change Settings, select the option you want, and then make settings.
❏ Save to Inbox:
Saves all received documents in the printer's inbox. e stored documents are not automatically printed.
You can view the documents on the printer's LCD screen and print them if needed.
❏ Save to Computer:
On the computer connected to the printer, make settings to save received documents on the computer using
FAX Utility. See the FAX Utility help for more details.
Once the received documents are saved on the computer, they are deleted from the printer. To print the
documents automatically while saving them on the computer, select Ye s th en Pri n t on the printer aer
nishing the FAX Utility settings.
