Follow
these
steps
to
install
an
option
card:
1.
If you
are
installing
a
card
in
the
option
slot
for
the
first
time,
you
need
to
remove
the
metal
cover
for
that
slot
on
the
inside
back
panel.
Remove
the
retaining
screw
securing
the
metal
cover
to
the
computer.
(Keep
the
screw
to
secure
the
option
card
to
the
computer.)
2.
Slide
out
the
slot
cover
and
set
it
aside.
(Store
it
in a
safe
place
in
case
you
remove
the
option
card
later.)
3.
Unpack
the
option
card
and
adjust
any
switches
or
jumpers
on
it,
if
necessary.
(Check
the
option
card
instructions.)
When
you
handle
the
card,
do
not
touch
any
of
the
components
on
the
circuit
board
or
the
gold-edged
connectors.
If
you
need
to
set
it
down
before
you
install
it,
place
it
gently
on
top
of
its
original
packing
material
with
the
component
side
facing
up.
Keep
the
packing
materials
in
case
you
remove
the
card
later.
