Grasp the disk drive from the front of the drive bay, pull
it completely out, and set it aside.

If you have removed one hard disk drive and are leaving
another one in your system, make sure you have set the
jumpers on the remaining drive to indicate that you now
have only one hard disk drive. (If not, see “Setting the
Hard Disk Drive Jumpers” on page B-4 for instructions.)
If you do not need to replace a hard disk drive in the
vertical mounting position, see “Replacing the
Subassembly” below.
If you need to reinstall a hard disk drive in the vertical
mounting position, follow the steps under “Installing the
Drive” on page B-12. However, it is easier to replace the
drive while the subassembly is out of the computer.
Follow the steps in that section as if the subassembly was
installed. Then see “Replacing the Subassembly,” below.
