Follow these steps to install an option card:
1. If you have not already done so, remove the cover from
the computer. (See page 5-2 for instructions.)
WARNING
After you remove the cover, touch the inside back
panel of the computer to ground yourself and avoid an
electric shock.
2. If you are installing an option card that controls a mouse,
you need to change the setting of jumper J4 on the main
system board before you install the card. If you install a
display adapter card, you may need to change the
settings of jumpers J1, J3, and J5. See page 5-7 for
instructions.
3. Remove the retaining screw from the top of the metal
option slot cover; hold on to the screw so it doesn’t fall
into the computer. Lift out the slot cover.

Keep the screw to secure the option card to the computer.
Store the slot cover in a safe place in case you remove the
option card later.
