The figure below illustrates the scanning area definition.

Caution:
If the reading area parameters are wrong, a command error
occurs in the scanner. The most likely mistake is that the value
used for the main scan is not a multiple of 8. The maximum
value of n

is different for each scanner. The offset length can
be set in units of one.
