Summary of the Scanner Commands
Five types of scanner commands are used with EPSON scanners. In
addition, four control codes are used for handshaking. The five
command types are:
Execution: Requests the scanner to send
back data
Data form definition: Specifies the format of data to be
sent from the scanner
Image definition: Sets image modes
Image processing: Specifies any enhancement
processes to be used
Auxiliary: Helps control the scanner
Execution commands
These commands obtain data from the scanner.
Request ID ESC I
Request status ESC F
Request extended status ESC f
Request condition ESC S
Start scanning ESC G
Data form definition commands
These commands specify the format of image data and data transfer.
Set color ESC C
Set data format ESC D
Set resolution ESC R
Set zoom ESC H
Set scanning area ESC A
