4. Press the
SEL
button. A message appears stating
that all data on the card will be erased and asking
you to confirm the procedure. Press the
SEL
button again to format the card and return to the
Photo Control menu; press the
ESC
button to
return to the Photo Control menu without
formatting the card.
Note:
If no memory card is installed in the camera, the error
message NO CARD appears.
Removing a CompactFlash Card
Follow the steps below.
1. Before you open the memory card cover, turn the
camera’s dial switch to
Off
.
2. Turn the camera upside down and open the
memory card cover.
3. Press the
Eject
button, then remove the memory
card by hand.
4. Close the memory card cover.

Caution:

Never remove the card while the camera is on.
Data in the card may be lost or damaged.
❏
Avoid using or storing the card in direct
sunlight, or in places that are extremely hot,
humid, or dusty.
The photo processing time also increases by a few
seconds when using the memory card.
