The test is printed using the available fonts at 360 dpi (dots
per inch). Here is part of a typical self test:
The above sample is in black and white, but the actual test prints in color.
Note:
If you want to print a self-test at 180 dpi, turn on the printer
while holding down the
LF/FF
button.
3. The test continues until the paper in the sheet feeder runs out
or until you press the
Pause
button. To stop the test, press
the
Pause
button. To resume the test, press the
Pause
button again.
4. To end the self test, press the
Pause
button to stop printing.
Press the
Load/Eject
button to eject the page if necessary,
and turn off the printer.

Caution:
Do not turn off the printer while it is printing. Always press
the Pause button to stop printing and then turn off the
printer.

If the self test results are satisfactory, this means that the
printer itself is all right and that the problem probably lies
in the printer software settings, application settings, the
interface cable (be sure to use a shielded cable), or the
computer itself.
