Normal Dot Versus EPSON Micro Dot Printing Mode
The Stylus Color Pro XL+ can eject ink in two different modes (normal print mode and EPSON Micro Dot
Mode). These modes are the same as the modes used in the Stylus Color II/Stylus Color IIs. (Refer to Section
2.2.1.) However, EPSON Micro Dot Printing in the Stylus Color II and Stylus Color IIs can be used only for
printing with black ink. EPSON Micro Dot Printing in the Stylus Pro XL+ can be used with both black and
color printing.
In normal dot printing, a pair of common drive pulses are translated to the printhead to produce one dot. On
the other hand, one print dot consists of single dot in the EPSON Micro Dot Printing. A single common drive
pulse is translated to the printhead, as shown in the following figure.
