4.1.9 Ink Consumption Counter Reset Operation

This operation is required when the ink cartridge is replaced. Usually, this operation is performed by the panel

operation. But if you perform this operation, you can reset the ink consumption counter value at any time.

1. Connect the PC to the target printer using a parallel interface cable and turn the printer on.

2. Load BASIC on the PC, and run the program. You see the following destination select menu.

1. EAI, EAI (Latin America), EAL, ESP

2. EDG, EUL, EFS, EIS, EIB, EUL (Northern Europe), EUL (Middle East), EHK

4. JAPAN

7. END

3. Input the number for the destination. Then the main menu appears, as shown below.

If you enter an incorrect number as the destination selection, printer functions are not

guaranteed.

4. When the main menu appears, choose “2, Ink consumption counter reset” by typing 2 and pressing

ENTER. This resets the internal timer. The following message then appears.

Ink Counter Reset

Black Ink Counter Reset only——- 1

Color Ink Counter Reset only ——- 2

Both Ink Counters Reset ——- 3

Quit Ink Counter Reset ——- 4

Select No.

5. Choose and type the selection number. This returns you to the main menu.
