4.1.10 Head Cleaning Function

This function performs the compulsory ink charging to the printer head in order to check using the service

tool for ink charging.

1. Connect the PC to the target printer using a parallel interface cable and turn the printer on.

2. Load BASIC on the PC, and run the program. You see the following destination select menu.

3. Input the number for the destination. Then the main menu appears, as shown below.

4. When the main menu appears, choose “0, Cleaning” by typing 0 and pressing ENTER. This resets the

internal timer. The following message then appears.

Ink Counter Reset

Black Ink counter Reset only ——- 1

Color Ink Counter Reset only ——- 2

Both Ink Counter Reset ——- 3

Quit Ink Counter Reset ——- 4

Select No.

5. Choose and type the selection number. This returns you to main menu.

If you perform this function on the same ink cartridge repeatedly, the ink life of this cartridge

becomes shorter than normal.
