12-2 Troubleshooting
Diagnosing the Problem
Troubleshooting is best handled in two easy steps: first diagnose
the problem, then apply likely solutions until the problem is fixed.
You can find the information that you need to diagnose most
common problems directly from the control panel message and
from the Status Monitor utility.
Use the information presented in this chapter to pinpoint the
source of your problem, then apply the recommended solutions
until the problem is solved.
Error Messages
You can identify many common problems by looking at the Error
light and LCD panel on the control panel. If the Stylus Scan stops
working and the Error light is on or flashing, use the following
table to help diagnose and solve the problem.

On Printer Error

has occurred.
Turn off the Stylus Scan and
contact your dealer.
On Call Service
The used ink tank is full. Turn off the Stylus Scan and
contact your dealer.
On Scanner Error
One of the following
scanner errors has
occurred:
The transportation lock
has not been released,
the fluorescent lamp
needs to be replaced, or
the EPSON Stylus Scan
is broken.
Make sure that the transportation
lock is in the unlocked position;
then turn the Stylus can off and
back on. If the Stylus Scan still
does not operate properly, or if this
error occurs repeatedly, consult
your dealer.
