PRINT Image Matching
PRINT Image Matching gives control of the printing process to
the digital camera, allowing printed images to reflect the camera’s
distinctive qualities. When taking photographs using a PRINT
Image Matching compatible digital camera, print command
information from the camera is embedded in the photo data. The
print command then instructs the printer how to correct color and
details based on information stored at the moment the photo was
taken. Digital camera settings that create the print command
include the gamma, color space, color balance, shadow point,
contrast, and brightness settings, among other attributes. A
printer equipped with PRINT Image Matching is able to interpret
these commands and faithfully reproduce the characteristics of
the image captured by the digital camera.
