Make the following settings to the printer.
Missing Dot Operation
Changes settings of operation, registration of invalid images to the documents, test printing of
invalid images at missing dots.
Following are the modes for operation setting when dot missing occurs.
•Anti-missing Color Mode: Executes cleaning when two or more dots are missing
side by si
de in the paper feed direction, or three or more
dots are missing arbitrarily.
•Anti-missing Read Mode: Executes a head cleaning when any dot is missing.
•High Reliability Mode (Reprint): When dot missing occurs, the EPSON Status Monitor 3
is displayed. Select the next operation from [Restart
printing] (printing the nex
t data) and [Reprint] (reprint-
ing after dot missing is resolved by the auto head clean-
ing.)
•High Reliability Mode (Void Image Reprint):
Prints the image that indicates dot missing and reprints
the same data when any dot is missing. Cuts an d prints
the top of
the void images if the paper height is less than
one inch.
•No change: No change is made for the current setting.
Notification Settings
Makes settings of the buzzer on/off, LED notification at the ink low status and the paper type
error notification when such error occurs.
Panel Button Settings
Among the panel buttons on the printer, enable/disable the FEED button and the CUT button.
The button for [High reliability mode (Void Image Test Print)] on [Driver Preferences] is
grayed out when [Use EPSON Status Monitor 3] on [Driver Preferences] of [Driver Utili-
ties] is not selected.
The dots may be missing due to mis-reading when “Anti-missing Color Mode” is
selected. It is recommended to use “Anti-missing Read Mode” or “High Reliability Mode”
to avoid such dot missing from mis-reading.
The volume for the buzzer notification (high/low) can be set by the DIP switch 8. (See "Set-
ting the DIP Switches" on page 74)
