Shutter detector mechanism
This detector confirms that the shutter moves into home position (at initialization) and detects
errors during the shutter operation. The detector mechanism is mounted around the
circumference of the slip open/close cam ("Cam, slip O/C") inside the shutter frame ("Frame,
shutter").
The detector mechanism consists of an LED and a photo IC, and works in conjunction with
blocker areas on the cam. As the cam turns, the blocker areas moves in and out of the space
between the LED and the photo IC, alternately blocking and opening the light path and thereby
changing the IC output level. Operation is based on the fact that the cam moves in sync with the
shutter mechanism. There are only three phase positions (including home position) at which the
shutter mechanism stops. The blocker forms are fitted so that they move into the detector (and
block the light path) only when the shutter is located at the phase position.

Roll paper detector mechanism
This mechanism consists of a roll paper detector combined with a microswitch and a detection
lever, and is mounted on the roll paper guide ("Paper guide, roll paper"). The mechanism detects
the presence of roll paper within the paper path.
