Power switch fixed mode (power off command mode)
This mode allows use of the power off command. Do not use this command in standard mode or
IM interlock mode. The front and rear power switches always remain on.
To turn on the printer power, turn on the power breaker in the shop or the power strip for the
POS system. To turn off the printer power, you must send the power off command and make
sure the POWER LED goes out. Then turn off the power breaker.
CAUTION:
Be sure to use the power off command to turn off the printer. If this command is not sent,
drying of ink in the print head may cause printing problems.
IM interlock mode
In this mode, the rear and front power switches remain on, and power is turned on or off with
the IM-5*5 power switch. You must connect the power cord to the AC inlet and the DC power
cable from the IM-5*5 power supply unit to the IM interlock connector.
Note:
In this mode, the rear and front power switches are supposed to remain on. However, if you turn off these
switches, note the following things:
❏
The printer does not turn on if the front power switch remains off.
❏
The printer does not turn on if the front power switch or the IM-5*5 power switch is turned on before
the rear power switch is turned on.
