While the firmware is updating, all of the status indicators on the projector start flashing and the cooling
fans run at high speed (this is normal). After the update is complete, the projector enters standby mode.
If the Direct Power On setting is enabled, the projector restarts automatically.
After the update is complete, check the Version setting in the Management > Information menu to
confirm that the firmware was updated successfully.

Updating Projector Firmware Using a Computer and USB Cable
You can update the projector firmware using a computer and a USB cable.
Note: You need a USB Type A to USB Mini-B cable.
Your computer must be running one of the following operating systems when updating firmware:
• Windows 8.1 (32- and 64-bit)
• Windows 10 (32- and 64-bit)
• macOS 10.13.x (64-bit)
• macOS 10.14.x (64-bit)
• macOS 10.15.x (64-bit)
1. Download the projector firmware file from the Epson support website. Make sure it is the correct
firmware file for your model.
2. Turn on the projector.
3. Connect the USB cable to the computer's USB port and to the projector's Service port.
4. Press the Menu button, select Initial/All Settings > Firmware Update and press Enter.
5. Select Yes to start the firmware update.
Note: Do not disconnect the power cable or remove the USB cable while the firmware is updating.
All of the status indicators on the projector start flashing, and the projector enters firmware update
mode. The projector appears as a removable drive on the connected computer.
6. Copy the downloaded firmware file onto the root (top) directory of the projector's removable drive.
Note: Do not rename the firmware file.
