Definition
Trunks can be assigned individual answering positions
to which incoming calls are directed.
Use
Answering positions are used when:
Incoming external traffic shall be answered by
OPERATOR or other answering position
Incoming external traffic shall be distributed so
that different persons within the organisation
answer certain selected trunks
It is desired to create a private trunk line for a
selected extension
Operation
All telephones
An incoming call to a programmed answering position
is always presented on Line 1 or Line 2.
The associated lamp flashes rapidly and external ring
signal is heard.
Display information
Call to normal answering position:
EXECUTIVE telephone
STANDARD telephone
On a diverted call to alternative answering position, the
display shows:
EXECUTIVE telephone
STANDARD telephone
Capacity
Each trunk can be assigned four different answering
positions:
Answering position for day-switched PBX
Alternative answering position for day-
switched PBX.
Is called when normal answering position does
not answer call or is busy (programmable).
Is also programmed as reroute position for direct
indialling
Answering position for night-switched PBX
Alternative answering position for
night-switched PBX.
Has same function as alternative answering po-
sition daytime
