A ‘mobile’ (vehicle-mount) antenna should be LQVWDOOHG with a separation
distance of FP or more from persons to satisfy mobile operating
requirements. This specific Cushcraft antenna must not RSHUDWH at closer
than FP from persons to ensure compliance with applicable SAR limits.
1RWH OEM integrators are required to include the appropriate operating
requirements in manuals provided to the end user together with
the final product to ensure RF exposure compliance. .
Other antennas with substantially equivalent performance characteristics,
physical construction and dimensions may also be acceptable. The integrator
can use an antenna supplied by a third party or design one that complies with
the antenna specifications in FKDSWHU³7HFKQLFDO'DWD´.
Antenna and operating configurations other than the original recommended
configurations may require separate approval for the applicable national RF
exposure compliance.
The given mounting distances and handling provisions for portable antennas
(5 cm) and mobile antennas (20 cm) are derived from the present FCC
regulations and apply as minimum requirements unless SAR/RF exposure
compliance for a specific configuration can be shown at closer distances.
1RWH The OEM integrator should verify that applicable emissions
standards are complied with for his specific application,
especially if others than above referecnce antennas are used!
