4.1.2.1 Filtering rules
The Filter device access window displays existing extended rules for removable media.
Category – Removable media type (CD/DVD/USB...).
Description – Filter device rules description.
Rights – Associated permissions of given devices, that match the criteria set by filter.
New – Create a new filtering removable media rule.
Edit – Select one row and click this button to change the existing rule.
Delete (Del) – Removes the selected rule.
4.1.2.2 Edit filtering rule
To add or edit an existing filtering rule click New or Edit in the Filter device access window. The following device
settings and options are available in the Filter device access window.
Device
Device type – Choose the removable media type from the list (CD/DVD/USB).
Serial number – A removable media has usually its own serial number. In case of a CD/DVD, this is the serial number
of the given media, not CD drive.
Vendor – Filtering by vendor name or ID.
Model – The given name of the device (typically chosen by the owner or vendor).
Model version – Optional, the version of the given device, if it's available.
Media size – By enabling this option you can define conditional filter devices (greater than, equal, lower than) by
media size (bytes, megabytes, etc.).
