The HC40/P1 Ice Auger produces noise that can be harmful to hearing. Use hearing protection when operating. FIRES AND HANDLING FUEL SAFELY • When storing extra fuel cylinders, make sure it is not stored in direct sunlight or in an area that can exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit (49 degrees Celsius). Excessive heat can cause the cylinder to explode. • Always replace the fuel cylinder outside in a well ventilated area. Never replace fuel cylinder indoors. (Examples include: basement, garage, barn, shed, house, porch, etc.) • Never remove the fuel cylinder with the engine running.
Operator's Manual Propane Powered Ice Auger PRE-OPERATION OPERATION Preparing Engine For Starting 1. Check engine oil level (see Check Oil Level in Service, Troubleshooting, and Repair section). 2. Thread a 16.4 oz disposable propane fuel cylinder into the regulator. Ensure the cylinder is fully sealed. NOTE: The correct size disposable propane fuel cylinder is approximately 3.875 inches (9.5 cm) in diameter. Always use the correct size and type specified.
General Maintenance Please refer to the maintenance table for all auger and engine service. It is important that you read this manual entirely. Following these recommendations will help you enjoy your propane auger for many years. The following routine inspections and maintenance guidelines are relatively simple to conduct, and require few tools.
Operator's Manual Propane Powered Ice Auger OIL FILL/DRAIN PLUG SUPPORT POWER HEAD IN A LEVEL POSITION FULL OIL LEVEL LOW (ADD) OIL LEVEL FIGURE 2 Check Engine Oil 1. Place unit horizontally, tank side down, with the auger propped up to make it level. SEE FIGURE 2 2. Unscrew the dipstick, wipe off dipstick with rag, and re-install the dipstick by threading it all the way in. 3. Remove the dipstick and examine where the oil level is sitting.
4. Re-install filter into filter housing, and check for proper fit. Check Sparkplug 1. Disconnect ignition coil wire from sparkplug and clean debris from around plug. 2. Remove the plug and check for the following: pitted electrode, burned electrode, cracked porcelain, or carbon deposits around electrode. 3. If any of the previous signs are present, replace sparkplug. 4. To re-install the sparkplug, ensure the gap is set to .024 inches, and torque sparkplug to 7.2 - 8.7 ft-lbs.

Most repairs will be minor, and easily fixed by following the suggestions in the troubleshooting guide in this section. The guide will help you pinpoint the causes of common problems and identify remedies.

If there is insufficient evidence of the purchase date, the effective date of this warranty will begin on the augers date of manufacture.

La tarière à glace HC40/P1 produit un bruit pouvant être nuisible pour l’ouïe. Porter une protection auditive durant l’utilisation. • Toujours garder les mains, les pieds, les cheveux et les vêtements amples à l’écart de toute pièce en mouvement du moteur et de la tarière. • Les lames de coupe sont extrêmement tranchantes.

Une chaleur excessive peut provoquer l’explosion de la bouteille. • Ne pas trop serrer la bouteille de propane en la raccordant à la conduite de carburant. Cela peut endommager le régulateur ou les joints de la bouteille de propane.

Vérifier le niveau d’huile moteur (voir Contrôler d’huile moteur à la section Service après-vente, dépannage et réparation). 2. Visser une bouteille de propane jetable de 465 g (16,4 oz) dans le régulateur. Vérifier la bonne étanchéité de la bouteille. REMARQUE : La taille correcte de la bouteille de propane jetable est d’environ 9,5 cm de diamètre.
