Getting started 2.8 Navigating the menu The Butler E451 has a menu system which is easy to use. Each menu leads to a list of options. The menu map is shown on the following paragraph. 1 When the handset is switched on and in standby, press the menu key to open the main menu. 2 Scroll to the desired menu option. The menu options scroll in a loop (you return to the first after the last). 3 Press the OK key to view further options or to confirm the setting displayed.

Phonebook 4 Phonebook Each handset can store up to 50 telephone numbers and names. Names can be up to 12 characters long and numbers up to 20 digits. Caller Identification Caller Identification This service only works when you have a Caller ID/Clip subscription. Please contact your telephone company. When you receive an external call, the telephone number of the caller appears on the handset display. The telephone can receive calls in both FSK and DTMF. You can also see his or her name if it is transmitted by the network.
Personalize the handset 6 Personalize the handset Every programmation is confirmed at the end by a double or single long beep. A double beep confirms the validation of your choice. A long beep signifies that the modification has not been taken into account. 6.1 Adjusting the ring volume Handset ring volume internal/external calls The handset ring volume for internal or external calls can be set separately. You can choose from 5 handset ringer volume levels and “OFF”.

Managing multiple handsets 7.5 Flash time duration Press the flash key ‘R’ (key 7 - picture 2D Handset) to use certain services on your external line such as “call waiting” (if your phone company offers this feature); or to transfer calls if you use a telephone exchange (PABX). If your handset is another model After starting the registration procedure on the base, refer to the handset manual to find out how to register the handset. The handset must be GAP compatible. The icon ‘ ’ and the text “NOT REG” flashes on the display when the handset is not associated with the base. When a handset is associated with a base, it is attributed a handset number by the base. It is this number that is displayed on the handset after the name and must be used for internal calls.
Answering machine When you have activated Automatic base selection and the handset is out of range on the current base, the handset will only search for the strongest base in standby (not during communication). 9 Answering machine The Butler E451 has a built-in digital answering machine with a recording capacity of 13 min. This answering machine can be controlled by the base and by the handset.
Setting Number of Rings (Answer delay) The number of rings after which the answering machine will answer calls can be set from 2 to 9 and “Toll saver”. The standard setting is 6 rings. In “Toll saver” mode, the machine will answer after 6 rings if there are no new messages, and after 2 rings if there are new messages. If there are no new messages and you call your machine to check your messages remotely (see “9.3 Remote Operation” ), you can hang up after the 2nd ring.
Answering machine Recording and selecting an outgoing message Two outgoing messages of 3 minutes can be recorded (OGM1 and OGM2). • Outgoing message 1 for the answering function and the possibility for callers to leave a message. • Outgoing message 2 for the answering function without allowing callers to leave a messages on the machine (answer only). If no outgoing message is recorded, a pre-recorded outgoing message will be used. # 1 Enter the menu. 2 Select “TAM SETTINGS” and confirm.
Answering machine Operation If a call is received and the answering machine is turned ON, the answering machine will automatically answer the call after the set number of rings. • If outgoing message 1 has been selected, the message will be played, a beep will be heard and the caller can leave a message (max. 3 minutes). • If outgoing message 2 has been selected, after the beep, the line will automatically be disconnected. The caller doesn’t have the possibility to leave a message.

Press the stop key to stop the playback. Press the delete key to erase the current message. Press the play/pause key to interrupt the playback. Warranty 12.1 Warranty period The devices have a 36-month warranty period. The warranty period starts on the day the new unit is purchased. There is no warranty on standard or rechargeable batteries (AA/AAA type). Consumables or defects causing a negligible effect on operation or value of the equipment are not covered. The warranty has to be proven by presentation of the original or copy of the purchase receipt, on which the date of purchase and the unit-model are indicated. 12.

Beginnen 2.8 Door het menu bladeren De Butler E451 heeft een gebruiksvriendelijk menusysteem. Elk menu toont een lijst met opties. De menukaart staat in de volgende paragraaf. 1 Wanneer de handset aan en in stand-by staat, drukt u op de menu-toets om het hoofdmenu te openen. 2 Blader naar de gewenste menuoptie. INT 2 Voer het nummer van de interne handset in (1 tot 5). Uw externe correspondent wordt nu in de wacht geplaatst. 3 Wanneer de andere handset opneemt, druk dan op de Opleggen-toets om op te hangen en de oproep door te schakelen.
De telefoon gebruiken 3.12 Pauze-toets Wanneer u een nummer invoert, kunt u een pauze invoeren tussen twee cijfers: 1 Houd de Nummerherhaling/Pauze-toets 2 seconden ingedrukt. 4GHI 5JKL 3.14 Een handset vinden (Paging-functie) 1 Druk op de Paging-toets op het basisstation. Alle handsets die bij het basisstation zijn aangemeld, zullen nu rinkelen. 2 Druk op een willekeurige toets op de handset om het rinkelen te stoppen.
TELEFOONBOEK 4 Telefoonboek Elke handset kan tot 50 telefoonnummers en namen opslaan. Namen kunnen 12 tekens, en nummers 20 cijfers lang zijn. Nummerweergave oproeper Nummerweergave oproeper Deze dienst werkt alleen als u bent geabonneerd op een dienst met nummerherkenning van de oproeper (CLIP). Neem hiervoor contact op met uw telefoonmaatschappij. Wanneer u een externe oproep ontvangt, verschijnt het nummer van de beller op de display van de handset. De telefoon kan oproepen ontvangen in zowel FSK als DTMF. U kunt ook zijn of haar naam zien als deze wordt verzonden door het netwerk.
De handset personaliseren U kunt elk nummer afzonderlijk verwijderen: 1 Kies de oproep die u wenst te wissen en wis hem. Op de display verschijnt "WISSEN?". 2 Bevestig of annuleer. Om alle items gelijktijdig te wissen: 1 Houd de Wissen-toets 2 seconden ingedrukt. Op het scherm verschijnt "WIS ALLE?". 2 Bevestig of annuleer. 6 De handset personaliseren Elke programmering wordt bij het einde bevestigd door een dubbele of een enkele lange pieptoon. Een dubbele pieptoon geeft de bevestiging van uw keuze aan.
De handset personaliseren 6.3 Inschakelen/uitschakelen van de pieptonen De handsets kunnen een pieptoon geven wanneer u op een toets drukt, wanneer het batterijniveau laag is of wanneer de handset buiten bereik is. 1 2 3 4 5 Open het menu. De handset personaliseren 6.6 De handset resetten U kunt de fabrieksinstellingen voor de telefoon terugzetten. Dit zijn de instellingen die zijn geïnstalleerd wanneer u de telefoon aankoopt. Om naar de standaard instellingen terug te keren: 1 Open het menu. 2 Kies "INSTELLINGEN" en bevestig. 3 Kies "FAB INSTELL" en bevestig. 4 Voer de 4-cijferige pincode in (standaard =0000) en bevestig.

Meerdere handsets gebruiken 7.4 De belmodus instellen Er zijn twee belmodi: DTMF/Toonkiezen (meest gebruikelijke) en pulskiezen (voor oudere installaties). De belmodus veranderen: 1 Open het menu. 2 Kies "INSTELLINGEN" en bevestig. 3 Selecteer "KIESMODE" en bevestig. 4 Kies de belmodus en bevestig. 7.
Meerdere handsets gebruiken 5JKL 6MNO 6 Voer de pincode van het basisstation in (standaard 0000) en bevestig. De handset zoekt nu het DECT-basisstation. Wanneer de handset het basisstation heeft gevonden, toont hij het identificatienummer van het basisstation. 7 Bevestig of stop. Wanneer de handset het basisstation niet vindt, keert hij na enkele seconden terug naar stand-bymodus. Probeer het nummer van het basisstation te wijzigen en ga na of er geen storingsbronnen zijn in de omgeving.
Antwoordapparaat 8.4 Een basisstation selecteren U kunt uw handset tussen basisstations wisselen. De handsets kunnen tot op 4 basisstations tegelijkertijd worden aangemeld. Wanneer u het basisstation kiest, wordt het huidig gekozen basisstation aangeduid door een knipperend basisstationnummer. Wanneer u "AUTO" kiest, zal de handset automatisch naar een ander basisstation zoeken wanneer u zich buiten bereik vindt. De handset moet eerst apart worden aangemeld bij elke basisstation. 1 Open het menu.
Antwoordapparaat Het antwoordapparaat in-/uitschakelen vanaf het basisstation: 1 Druk op de aan/uit toets om het antwoordapparaat te activeren. 2 De interne stem zal de instellingen bevestigen en het huidige uitgaand bericht afspelen. 3 Druk opnieuw op de aan/uit toets om het antwoordapparaat uit te schakelen. Nederlands Het antwoordapparaat in-/uitschakelen vanaf de handset: 1 Open het menu. 2 Kies "ANTW. INSTEL" en bevestig. 3 Kies "ANTW AAN/UIT" en bevestig. 4 Selecteer "AAN" of "UIT" en en bevestig.
Antwoordapparaat VIP code programmeren De VIP-code is een 3 cijfer code die gebruikt wordt om het toestel vanop afstand te bedienen. (Zie “9.3 Bediening vanop afstand” ) De standaard waarde is "123". 1 Open het menu. 2 Kies "ANTW. INSTEL" en bevestig. 3 Kies "TOEGANGSCODE" en bevestig. 4 Voer de nieuwe code in en bevestig. 4GHI 5JKL 6MNO Een uitgaand bericht (OGM) opnemen en afspelen Er kunnen twee uitgaande berichten van 3 minuten worden opgenomen (OGM1 en OGM2).
Antwoordapparaat 9.2 Werking Wanneer er een oproep binnenkomt en het antwoordapparaat is aangeschakeld, zal na het aantal ingestelde beltonen, het antwoordapparaat automatisch de lijn nemen. • Als uitgaand bericht 1 is geselecteerd, zal deze worden afgespeeld. Na het bericht zal er een biep signaal te horen zijn en kan de opbeller een boodschap inspreken (van max. 3 minuten). • Als uitgaand bericht 2 is geselecteerd, zal deze worden afgespeeld.
Antwoordapparaat Inkomende berichten en memo's afspelen Op het basisstation: 1 Druk kort op de play-toets om alle boodschappen en memo’s weer te geven. 2 Druk 2 seconden op de play-toets om enkel de nieuwe boodschappen en memo’s weer te geven. Voor elke boodschap zal de interne stem de dag en het uur van de binnengekomen boodschap weergeven. Tijdens het afspelen, kan u: • Druk 1 keer op de terugspoeltoets om naar het begin van de huidige boodschap te gaan.
Probleemoplossing 1 Hoofdmenu: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Nederlands 4 Indien de VIP-code correct is en er zijn nieuwe boodschappen, zal het toestel automatisch het aantal vermelden en de boodschappen weergeven. Wanneer alle boodschappen zijn weergegeven zal het toestel vragen om op "5" te drukken om alle weergegeven boodschappen te wissen. Druk op "1" om het hoofdmenu weer te geven. • Indien er geen nieuwe boodschappen zijn zal het toestel dit ook vermelden en vragen om op "1" te drukken voor hoofdmenu.

Garantie 12 Garantie 12.1 Garantieperiode 12.2 Afwikkeling van garantieclaims Een defect toestel moet, samen met een geldig aankoopbewijs en een ingevulde onderhoudskaart, worden teruggestuurd naar een erkende hersteldienst. Als het toestel tijdens de garantieperiode een defect vertoont, zal de hersteldienst eventuele defecten te wijten aan materiaal- of productiefouten gratis herstellen, door defecte toestellen of onderdelen van defecte toestellen ofwel te herstellen ofwel te vervangen.
