Thebasicpowerstateoptionsinclude:
Poweron–Powersonthevirtualmachineandbootstheguestoperatingsystemif
theguestoperatingsystemisinstalled.
Poweroff–Powersoffthevirtualmachine.Thevirtualmachinedoesnotattempt
toshutdowntheguestoperatingsystemgracefully.
Suspend–Pausesthevirtualmachineactivity.Alltransactionsarefrozenuntilyou
issuearesumecommand.
Resume–AllowsvirtualmachineactivitytocontinueandreleasestheSuspended
state.
Reset–Shutsdowntheguestoperatingsystemandrestartsit.Thisoperation
dependsontheoperatingsystembeingshutdown.Ifshutdownisnotautomatic
forthatoperatingsystem,VMwareToolsmustbeinstalled.
