IEC Component Transfer
(IEC ONLY) You must transfer the components from the
NEFM slot to the new backplane.
a: Using a small blade screwdriver, press the
locking tabs for the plastic cable grommet
inward one-at-a-time and then push the
grommet out of the old backplane.
b: From the front face of the backplane, insert
the cable grommet into the appropriate
round hole in the new backplane and press
until the tabs lock it in place.
c: Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws that retain the female
IEC connector in place. Be sure to catch the nuts after the screws have been
removed. You will need the screws and nuts to secure the IEC connector in the
new backplane.
d: Insert the IEC connector into the new backplane in the orientation shown.
Secure it using the two screws and two nuts removed in the previous step.
e: Attach the green/yellow earth wire to the PEM stud on the rear of the new
backplane and ensure that the other end is still fully connected to the rear of
the IEC connector.
Step 13: Once you have performed all of the above steps, discard the old backplane in
accordance with local regulations.
