SPARK ARRESTER
If the generator has been running, the
muffler will be very hot. Allow it to cool
before proceeding.
The spark arrester must be serviced every
100 hours of operation to maintain its
efficiency.
Follow these procedures to clean the spark
arrester:
• Remove the 8 mm bolt as shown.
• Remove the two 10 mm bolts from the
intake pipe and muffler as shown.
• Remove the gasket and the spark arrestor
from the inside of the muffler.
• Use a brush to remove carbon deposits
from the spark arrester screen.
• Inspect the screen for breaks or tears and
replace it if necessary.
• Check the muffler gasket; replace it if
damaged. Reinstall the muffler gasket,
the spark arrester, the muffler and
muffler protector in the reverse order of
removal.
